Studying at Haileybury Pangea
Who can study at Haileybury Pangea?
We welcome students who are passionate about their learning, academically inclined and self-motivated. Haileybury Pangea online school is available to students aged 10-18, Years 5-12 who have a Victorian or Northern Territory residential address.
Students cannot be enrolled at both Haileybury and Haileybury Pangea, nor can they subsequently transfer to Haileybury from Haileybury Pangea. Students who wish to go to Haileybury will be placed on a waitlist as per the Haileybury enrolment policy.
Does a parent or guardian need to be at home during lesson and study time?
Yes, a parent or guardian does need to be at home during lesson time. Please see the Haileybury Pangea Business Notice for further clarification. Parents are responsible for ensuring adequate supervision of children while they are engaging in learning online.
Does a Haileybury Pangea student wear a uniform?
Yes, every full-time student will wear a Haileybury Pangea polo shirt. Victorian students studying a single VCE subject do not need to wear a Haileybury Pangea uniform.
Will students miss out on socialising with their peers if they are taught online?
Haileybury Pangea students will have multiple opportunities to socialise with their classmates and build lifelong friendships with their peers. In class lessons are interactive, and students will often work together in small groups using our digital breakout rooms.
Outside the classroom, we offer a range of clubs and activities and in-person events. Students can also build their leadership and teamwork skills through a variety of school initiatives.
How do students connect with their classmates online?
Our online campus is purpose-designed and structured to ensure students can connect with others, join clubs, form friendships and feel supported in their academic studies.
Can I attend Haileybury Pangea from anywhere in Australia?
Haileybury Pangea is an online school available to students from Years 5 - 12 with a Victorian or Northern Territory residential address.
What online teaching platform does Haileybury Pangea use?
The Haileybury Pangea learning community has been designed from the ground up by our brilliant teachers working alongside international researchers in blended learning.

How do students complete VCE SACS/Exams?
At the time of exams and SACS, students will be notified which location they can attend to complete them.
Who can study a VCE single subject?
VCE single subjects are run over two semesters and are available to Victorian students from Years 10-12.
Applications for VCE single subjects will have open and closed timeframes and we are currently accepting applications for 2025.
Fees and enrolment
What are the fees to attend Haileybury Pangea?
Haileybury Pangea is $20,035.00 per annum for full-time students.
Haileybury Pangea VCE single subjects are offered at $4,450.00 per subject per annum.
All other subjects and courses will be offered at a flat fee depending on the topic and duration.
There is a $275 fee when completing an Application for Enrolment for both full-time and single-subject students.
All students enrolling in the full-time program (Years 5-12) and VCE electives will be required to complete testing. There is no charge for testing but please note that the results of the testing will not be disclosed and remain the property of Haileybury Pangea. If I enrol with Haileybury Pangea, am I also enroled at Haileybury?
No – Haileybury Pangea is a separate campus and enrolments into the online school are independent of on-campus. Students enrol at Haileybury Pangea exclusively.
Can I enrol in Haileybury Pangea and transfer to a campus?
No, it is not possible to transfer from Haileybury Pangea to another Haileybury campus. Enrolments for Haileybury and Haileybury Pangea are independent, and students cannot request a transfer to a campus location if they change their mind.
Students would need to complete an Application for Enrolment for Haileybury to join the waitlist for their preferred campus, year level and year of intake. Please contact Haileybury Pangea Admissions on 03 9904 6115 to discuss availability.
Can I enrol at any time?
You can complete an online application to enrol for the full-time program at any time throughout the year. We are currently accepting full-time program applications for commencement in 2025 and beyond. Enrolments for VCE single subjects are taken on a year-by-year basis and are for Victorian residents only.
Students commence at the beginning of the school year for both full-time Haileybury Pangea students and VCE single subjects students. If you would like to discuss the possibility of a mid-term or mid-year intake, please contact Haileybury Pangea Admissions on 03 9904 6115 to discuss further.
*Please note you cannot enrol in both our full-time program and a single subject at the same time. These applications must be done separately. The Admissions and Course Advisor will be able to assist you if you have any questions regarding this.
Does Haileybury Pangea offer scholarships?
Information about scholarships will be published on the Haileybury Pangea website when they become available.
Is there a test students must take to attend Haileybury Pangea?
Haileybury Pangea is proudly an open entry school. We welcome all students. Students complete a range of entry tests dependent on the subjects to determine the appropriate academic pathway.
My child is too young to enrol. Is there an opportunity to secure a future place at Haileybury Pangea?
Yes, there will be an opportunity to be placed on a waitlist.
Waitlists for the full-time program are currently open.If you are a Victorian resident, you can also express your interest in a VCE single subject.

Classes and subjects
How does a subject run?
Haileybury Pangea offers 2-3 periods of live lessons per subject per week. This is complemented by self-paced work. Students will be able to access their teacher for support outside of lesson time.

Can VCE be completed online?
Yes. You can complete your VCE certificate online at Haileybury Pangea. Our online campus offers full-time for both Victorian and Northern Territory residents or VCE single subject enrolment options for Victorian residents only.
Can I stay at my current school and enrol in a single VCE subject at Haileybury Pangea?
Haileybury Pangea offers Victorian VCE students the flexibility to enrol in a VCE single subject to complement their existing VCE program if required.
Are lessons recorded so students can go back and revisit them later?
All classes are live and compulsory to attend. If you are absent, your parent/guardian must notify the School. Key instruction will be available as part of the self-paced learning to be completed in your own time.
How are classes run?
What does a typical class look like?
Haileybury Pangea’s online platform allows for a high degree of interactivity, using voice, chat, polling, and other functionality that engages students in their lessons. Collaborative learning is an important part of a Haileybury Pangea education which prepares them for future work and socialisation.
What happens if I miss a class?
All classes are compulsory to attend. If you are absent, your parent/guardian must notify the School. Key instruction will be available as part of the self-paced learning to be completed in your own time.
Will I need to purchase any textbooks?
A booklist is provided at the beginning of the year for students to purchase resources, with a mix of digital, physical textbooks and online subscriptions required.
How will my teacher monitor my progress?
Your teacher will provide a number of check-in points and formative tasks to monitor your progress. This includes assessing your engagement with our courses, the completion of self- paced tasks, and your contribution to the online classroom.
Are Haileybury Pangea teachers based in Victoria?
All teachers need to have a Victorian Institute of Teaching registration, however they do not need to be located in Victoria.
How do students communicate with their teacher online?
Every Haileybury Pangea class is run live with access to your teacher through our online platform. You will also be able to book a suitable time to meet with your teacher throughout the course for additional support and to answer questions.
How many students are in an online classroom?
Haileybury Pangea offers small class sizes allowing students to benefit from individual attention and brilliant teaching.

What type of computer do I need?

- Access to a secondary device (mobile phone, iPad or computer with webcam) to support academic testing
- Students are required to have access to a printer or printing service (such as Officeworks), as well as notepaper or writing book, for occasions where hard copy papers are required, such as written assessments. Students will receive instructions for printing materials with a reasonable amount of notice.

Please note: Haileybury Pangea classes make use of OneNote and recommend devices with a stylus so that work can be directly entered into the notebook. If using a Macbook, a Wacom tablet or a phone camera can be used to upload work.
- If you are unable to meet these technical requirements, we cannot confirm your eligibility for Haileybury Pangea.
What applications do I need on my computer?
Software required for most school courses will be available for both Windows and OSX and can be downloaded for no cost using the school license for the duration of their enrolment at the School. (Exceptions include VCE Music and will be specified during enrollment.)
What type of internet connection do I need?
Internet Requirements:
The minimum Internet connection speed to undertake a Haileybury Pangea learning pathway is as follows:
- 25Mbps for a single user
- 50Mbps for 2-3 users
- 75Mbps for 4-5 users
Are students expected to have their camera on for live classes?
Yes, at all times.

Can you finish high school online in Australia?
Haileybury Pangea offers a wide range of online VCE subjects giving students the flexibility to choose their own pathway as they begin to prepare for life beyond school.
What are the benefits of an online school?
Students can study from anywhere giving them flexibility, choice and time to pursue other activities or professional interests.
Can online learning replace the school classroom?
Online learning now gives students a choice something that hasn't been available to them in the past.
Is online learning better than face-to-face learning?
Different education styles will suit each individual child differently. While some students will be more suited to a traditional classroom environment, others will thrive in an online classroom setting.
What kind of students benefit from online learning?
